Hosting events on and off Twitch can lead to an increase in community engagement, growth, and hitting goals. Successful events incorporate interactive elements, are aligned with your community’s interests and values, and are united around a common goal.

Constructing Online Events

Purpose
Give your community a goal to rally behind. Celebrate something special like a birthday or stream anniversary, set a personal goal for your stream using bits or subs, or create a charity fundraiser. Choose challenges that are fun, achievable, and resonate with your community.

Interaction
Include interactive elements tied to supporting your goal. Create must see moments when achieving milestones or goals that would otherwise result in FOMO.

Develop a theme, use custom images, and tie it together with rewards to get people interested and engaged. Utilize Twitch tools such as: polls, leaderboards, and alerts to elevate excitement.

TWITCH TIP:
Posting recaps, highlights, and community shoutouts from your event can strengthen the bonds built during it.

Timing
The timing of your event can impact the success of it. Think about the frequency of events with respect to your audience and how much or what you’re asking of your community. Be mindful of other events that create competition that may detract from your own.

Twitch Community MeetUps

There are many in-person events where broadcasters and communities gather to share their love for Twitch, network with others local to the area, and grow friendships IRL. MeetUps are a great place to network, meet and make new friends, learn more about streaming, and get cool swag!

Recognized Community MeetUps are powered by Twitch and occur in over 50 cities across the globe.

TWITCH TIP:
Creators who attend MeetUps can better monetize their channels through participation in Twitch programs, activations, and campaigns!

How You Benefit
In-person events foster connection and collaboration with other creators. When you are together in person you feel more connected and part of the community. MeetUps provide the opportunity to meet and connect with Ambassadors, Guild Leaders, Twitch Partners, Twitch Affiliates, business leaders, and many more members of the community.

What to Expect
MeetUps vary from monthly to biannually depending on the location, community, and individual volunteer Organizers and their leadership team. You can RSVP online or purchase a ticket if needed. In-person events often have panels, Q&A, games, giveaways, friendly competitions, and more.

Get Involved
You can get involved by volunteering for a MeetUp near you, or by organizing your own event if there are none near you. Existing MeetUps can apply to become Powered by Twitch.
