Increasing Accessibility
Your content should be accessible to all the members of your community - including those who may have a disability. This includes utilizing closed captions and making considerations within the content you produce, like turning on subtitles in gameplay.
ALT Text
Descriptive, or alt text, is a concise text that describes an image or object so that visually impaired users can get the full context of the content. Adding ALT text to your images on and off of Twitch enhances overall accessibility and helps your content meet standards in the industry. You can add ALT text to images you utilize online and test them using a screen reader.
TWITCH TIP:
Good ALT text should provide the same information and evoke the same emotions as the visual content it describes.
Accessible “About” Sections
You can make your About section accessible for community members that use a screen reader by adding descriptive text in addition to images on your panels.

Utilizing Closed Captions
Closed captions give your community the option to enjoy your content without sound, and are particularly helpful to deaf and hard of hearing viewers. You can provide closed captions through the use of a plugin software on OBS or through Extensions via the Extensions section of your Creator Dashboard where you can search for “stream captions.”
Narrating Your Actions
While broadcasting, commenting on what is occurring greatly helps those who are visually impaired or watching passively.
Try providing a train of thought response to everything you are doing in your stream - “Oh a treasure chest! Should I open it? Wait you know me, I’m going to head straight for it.. OH No, it’s a monster!”
